Moore driveway

Concrete driveway Moore: the City's curb-cut permit, the 30-foot width rule, and replacement

Concrete driveway Moore covers replacing a driveway or adding one at a Moore house, the City curb-cut permit, and the 30-foot width rule. Edmond’s rules and Norman’s rules do not apply in Moore. Call or text 405-913-6183. Send the street address and photos of the drive, the garage edge, and where it meets the street.

Moore only

A house-lot driveway, and a City form at the curb

Concrete driveway Moore, on this page, means a driveway at a Moore house: a new pour, or a replacement of an existing drive. A replacement adds tear-out and haul-off. The private slab and the curb cut are two separate conversations. A written number still comes from the address, not a square-foot rate on a website. We review the lot before anyone writes a number, and we do not take every job. It is not a commercial approach or a foundation.

The City of Moore Building Permits page says building permits are required for most residential remodels, additions, or improvements, and for all new construction. If you do not know whether this driveway needs a permit, call the Inspections Department at 405-793-5051. Offices are inside Moore City Hall, 301 N. Broadway, Moore, OK 73160.

Broader notes for the city stay on concrete work in Moore. The general driveway service is on concrete driveways. Edmond’s permit notes are on concrete driveway Edmond. Norman’s permit notes are on concrete driveway Norman. Those pages do not set Moore’s curb-cut form or the 30-foot width rule.

City of Moore

Do you need a City permit?

The City’s Driveway/Curb Cut Permit Application is the form dated December 6, 2019, from Community Development, Inspections Division, 301 N. Broadway, Moore, OK 73160, phone 405-793-5051. Page 2 is titled “SITE PLAN.” Under “Tinhorn, if applicable,” the form asks yes or no, and if yes, the material (Galvanized, Concrete, HDPV, or Other) and the size in inches. Below the line “DO NOT WRITE BELOW THIS LINE – FOR OFFICE USE ONLY,” the form has sign-off lines for Building Safety Division and for Planning, each with Approve or Deny.

The construction-type choices on the form are “New Curb Cut / Driveway,” “Existing Curb Cut / Driveway Reconstruction,” and Other. The form also asks for driveway-approach width in feet and curb-cut width in feet. This page does not publish a job price, a thickness, or a strength number.

The Building Permits & Inspections page says you can apply and pay for permits and inspections online using the GovBuilt portal at mooreok.govbuilt.com. This page did not open that portal. The same page says: “Same-Day Inspections are available but you must call 405-793-5051 or message through the portal before 9am.” It lists Right of Way (ROW) at 405-793-4513.

A different form, the Right-of-Way Permit Application, is for utility work in the right-of-way. It is not the homeowner driveway curb-cut form. Use the Driveway/Curb Cut Permit for the driveway.

Nothing on this page means OKC Flatwork submits the City permit. The homeowner or the contractor applies. Ask your contractor who pulls the permit.

Ordinance 1039.23

The 30-foot rule

Sec. 5-207 of Ordinance No. 1039.23 is “Adoption Of Paving, Sidewalk, And Driveway Specifications.” It was passed and approved December 18, 2023. The driveway-width text in that section reads:

The maximum width of a driveway shall be calculated as a grand total of the property boundary. The existing and proposed widths of all driveways within a one-to-two family lot shall be calculated as a whole. The maximum combination width of residential driveways shall not exceed 30 feet in width. Turning radii are not placed in the total width calculation. The minimum/maximum radii for a one-to-two family dwelling is five feet. The proposal of a larger radii must get approval from the Community Development Director.

City of Moore Ordinance No. 1039.23, Sec. 5-207, read Oct 22, 2026. The ordinance is a scanned PDF.

That is a City width rule for a residential driveway. It is not a price, and it is not a thickness.

Paving code

Built to the City’s standards

The same section adopts the “City of Moore Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction” and the “Construction Standards and Details for Public Works Construction” as the paving code of the city. It says one copy is on file in the office of the community development director, and that later revisions become effective as available.

The City’s Development Resources page lists two current files, each marked revised 02/20/26: the Standard Specifications Manual and the Construction Standards and Details. Those page titles are not the same wording as the ordinance. This page did not open either PDF, so it does not quote a thickness, a strength, or any other number from them.

New or replacement

Replacement versus a new pour

Sort the job before anyone talks about the permit. These are questions for the address. They are not a diagnosis from a photo. This page does not add a thickness, a mix, or a base recipe.

A new pour

On the City form, one construction type is “New Curb Cut / Driveway.” On this site, a new pour is the conversation when the parking area is still gravel or dirt. Say that plainly so it is not priced as a tear-out.

A replacement

On the City form, another construction type is “Existing Curb Cut / Driveway Reconstruction.” On this site, replacement adds tear-out and haul-off. Ask what has to come out — concrete, asphalt, gravel, or dirt — and where that material goes. Name the curb cut as its own item if it might change.

Who applies

Ask your contractor who applies for the permit. The homeowner or the contractor files it. This page does not say OKC Flatwork pulls the permit, and it does not publish a license number.

Before you call

What to send for a Moore driveway conversation

Call or text 405-913-6183. Send the street address and photos of the full drive from the street, the garage edge, and where the concrete meets the curb. Say whether the parking area is still gravel or dirt, or whether an old drive has to come out. Say whether the curb cut might change. A person follows up from this address. Nothing is booked from this page. We review the lot before anyone writes a number, and we do not take every job.

Keep the rest of the decision on the existing pages. Broader Moore planning notes are on concrete work in Moore. The driveway service is on concrete driveways. Edmond is on concrete driveway Edmond. Norman is on concrete driveway Norman.

Questions before a Moore driveway

Open any question for the planning answer. Property-specific method, price, timing, and permit paperwork still have to be confirmed for the address.

Does a concrete driveway in Moore need a City permit?

The City of Moore Building Permits page says building permits are required for most residential remodels, additions, or improvements, and for all new construction. If you do not know whether this driveway needs a permit, call Inspections at 405-793-5051. The Driveway/Curb Cut Permit application asks for a site plan and tinhorn details, with office sign-off lines for Building Safety Division and Planning. The same page says you can apply and pay online through the GovBuilt portal. Nothing on this page means OKC Flatwork submits that permit.

What is the 30-foot rule for a Moore residential driveway?

Ordinance No. 1039.23, Sec. 5-207, says the maximum combination width of residential driveways shall not exceed 30 feet in width. Turning radii are not placed in the total width calculation. The minimum/maximum radii for a one-to-two family dwelling is five feet. A larger radii needs approval from the Community Development Director. Existing and proposed driveway widths on a one-to-two family lot are calculated as a whole.

Do Edmond or Norman driveway rules apply in Moore?

No. A Moore driveway uses the City of Moore ordinance and forms linked on this page. Edmond drive-approach notes and Norman right-of-way notes are for those cities. They do not set Moore's curb-cut form or the 30-foot width rule.

Where these facts come from

Sources

Read Oct 22, 2026, except the shop pages, which are this site’s own wording. If a line below is in quotation marks, it is the source’s wording.

Not used: the GovBuilt portal was not opened. The Standard Specifications Manual and Construction Standards and Details PDFs were not opened, so this page quotes no thickness or strength from them. The Building Permits page does not say that a Moore mailing address is proof of city limits, so this page does not say that either.
